Shoprite Class Of Competition
This year, 518 Shoprite stores are putting their weight behind education with the annual Class Of competition! Each year, learners from Grade 1 to Grade 12 are asked to submit essays or drawings describing what they want to be when they grow up, giving us an opportunity of supporting those learners who demonstrate creativity and are able to dream big.
Competition Period
This promotional competition is open from 04 January 2022 and ends at midnight on 21 February 2022. Any entries received after the closing date will not be considered.
Who Can Participate?
** The promotional competition is open to all government school learners aged 18 (eighteen) and younger residing and attending school in South Africa.
** Any director, member, partner, employee, agent or consultant of the Promoter, the marketing service providers or any person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by these entities, including their spouses, life partners, business partners or immediate family members may not enter or participate in this promotional competition and will automatically be disqualified upon entry.
How to Participate?
To enter, participants will be required to
** Tell or show us what you want to be when you grow up by sending us a short essay or drawing a picture; and
** Sending it to the competition whatsapp number: 087 240 5709 or to the Shoprite website available at www.shoprite.co.za.
** Standard data usage rates apply.
Prize
** The prize is a chance to have your school fees paid up to a value of R5000.00 (five thousand rand), any amount over R5000.00 (five thousand rand) will be responsibility of the participant’s parents or guardians. The fees so won, will be paid directly into the relevant school’s bank account.
** In the event of a school not charging any fees, stationary packs to the value of R1000.00 (one thousand rand) will be awarded instead.
Winner Announcement
** A winner for each Shoprite store will be announced by 7 April 2022 and will be notified telephonically within 2 (two) weeks after the selection has taken place where the winner’s parents/guardians will be required to verify the winner’s details as more fully set out in 9 above.
** The Promoter (or its agent) will endeavor to contact the prize winner’s parents/guardians once every day for 5 (five) consecutive working days after their name is drawn.
Terms & Conditions
** Any participant under the age of 18 years must be represented by his/her parent or legal guardian, who approves of and consents to the participant’s participation in the competition and the participant’s receipt/possession of a prize.
** Participants must enter in their correct contact details and must indicate the Shoprite store where they obtained the information regarding the competition. If a winner has given incorrect contact details, the Promoter reserves the right to select another winner in terms of the rules.
** The Promoter reserves the right to name winner publicly and any other place where the Promoter deems fit, this includes the publication of the winner’s essay or image. By entering the competition, the prize winner agrees to the publication of his/her name by the Promoter.
** Failure to claim the prize or a refusal or inability to comply with the requirements set for in 9 and 10 within the specified period will disqualify a winner and a new winner will be drawn in their place at the sole discretion of the Promoter.
** The Promoter shall not be responsible for any lost, damaged, delayed, incorrect or incomplete entries for any reason whatsoever. Proof of sending will not be accepted as proof of receipt.
** The Promoter shall not be responsible for the failure of any technical element relating to this promotion that may result in an entry not being successfully submitted.
** The prize is not exchangeable for cash and is not transferrable.
** The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
