Sanlam Cape Province Open :
Conditions of Play :
** The competition will be held in accordance with the Rules of Golf as approved by the R&A Rules Limited and Local Rules as approved by the Southern Cape Golf Union.

Entry Requirements :
** Open to Amateurs who are members of a Golf Club affiliated to the South African Golf Association and who have a handicap of 9 (Nine) or less as assessed in terms of the SAGA Course Rating and Handicapping System or other system acceptable to the South African Golf Association and all players who qualify in terms of the below Exemption categories.
Field Size :
** Entries will be limited to 180 players.
** Should more than 180 entries be received, entries will be reduced by the Tournament Organizing Committee based on the SAGA Rankings, higher handicaps or by means they deem to be fair.
Exemption Categories :
Entrants who are exempt from a ballot will be :
a) International players as accepted by the Southern Cape Golf Union,
b) Players who competed in the A Division of the 2016 Premier Inter Provincial Tournament,
c) Four (4) players from each B Division 2016 Premier IPT Team as nominated by their Union,
d) The Top 50 players on the SAGA Player Ranking list as of Monday 06 February 2022,
e) Ten (10) Development players as determined by the Southern Cape Golf Union,
f) Other entrants as determined by the Southern Cape Golf Union.
Form of Competition :
** The tournament is played over three days.
** Eighteen (18) holes will be played on Tuesday and on Wednesday alternately at Kingswood Golf Estate and George Golf Club.
** Thereafter the field will be cut to 65 players and ties. Thirty-six (36) holes will be played on Thursday at Kingswood Golf Estate.
** In the event of a tie for the championship, a sudden death play-off will take place over hole 1 until the winner is determined.
Entries :
** The entry fee is R750, and entries will close at noon on Wednesday 08th February 2022.
** Online entries and payment must be completed before the closing date, and all information required must be provided accurately.
** No telephonic, telegraphic or email entries will be accepted.
** The onus is on the player to ensure that his entry has been received by SCGU as prescribed in these Conditions.

Withdrawals :
** Only written or faxed cancellation will be accepted and if received after the closing date no refund will be made.
Draw & Starting Times :
** The draw will be conducted by the Southern Cape Golf Union.
** Any competitor who is absent from the tee when called upon to start will be liable to disqualification or penalty under Rule 6-3.
** The draw will be available on Thursday 09th February 2022 at Kingswood, George Golf Club, the South African Golf Association .saga.co.za, Southern Cape Golf Union’s office and on the Unions web site .scgu.co.za. It is the player’s responsibility to obtain his tee-off time.
Registration :
** All participating players must register at least 30 minutes prior to their tee off time on Tuesday 14rd February 2016.
** The registration areas will be located at the Clubhouse entrance of both Kingswood Golf Estate and George Golf Club.
** Breach of this condition will result in disqualification.
