Ackermans Style Squad Competition

Terms and Conditions :

** This competition will run from 1 September 2016 – 15 August 2022 and will consist of 3 rounds.

** There will be 2 winners – 1 girl and 1 boy.

** By entering this competition, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

** Competition entry fee is free and only for children aged between 9 & 15 within the Republic of South Africa.

** You may only enter once, entries are final and may not be changed after submission.

** For every entry, a unique and valid email address is required from the parent/ guardian.

You are not eligible to enter this competition if you are :

a. A director, member, partner, employee, agent or consultant of Ackermans

b. An immediate family member of the persons specified in 7(a)

** All prizes in this competition cannot be exchanged for cash.

** Ackermans and their delivery agent does not accept responsibility or liability for any loss or damage and will also not be responsible or liable for any further expenses or fees required for purpose of using, applying or enjoying the prize won in this competition.

** Participants give Ackermans and its authorized agents consent to use their names and images for publicity purposes across any channel.

** Ackermans reserves the right to vary, suspend, postpone or terminate the competition and any prizes, or any aspect thereof, for any reasons whatsoever and without notice.

** In such event, you hereby waive any rights or expectations which you may have against Ackermans and acknowledge that you will not have any recourse or claim of any nature against Ackermans.

By participating in this competition, you consent to :

(i) the processing of your personal information by Ackermans and other companies in the Pepkor group, any of their operators, agents and sub-contractors (who may be outside South Africa) on the condition that they will keep such information confidential;

(ii) the collection of your personal information from any other source to supplement the personal information which Ackermans has about you;

(iii) the retention by Ackermans of your personal information for as long as permitted for legal, regulatory, fraud prevention and marketing purposes;

(iv) Ackermans using your personal information to send you information about products, services, and special offers of the various companies in the Pepkor group that may be of interest or value to you.

** You can choose to be excluded from direct marketing by notifying Ackermans in writing or by registering a block on any registry which Ackermans is bound by law to recognise.

** Ackermans will not charge you a fee to update this request on its systems.

** Ackermans will give effect to any changes requested by you as soon as reasonably possible.

** Ackermans operate various social media communities on various social media services and are glad to have you as a community member.

** We encourage you to interact with us and other community members through our communities.

** To this end, you are kindly referred to our external media policy and we encourage you to familiarize yourself therewith prior to agreeing to be bound thereto.

Round 1

** Round 1 of the competition will run from 1 September 2016 up until and including midnight on 30 September 2016.

** In order to enter the competition, you must be registered on the Ackermans website. Please visit member.ackermans.co.za/user/register/email.

** You may enter the competition via the following channel ackermans.co.za/style-squad-2022/entry-form.

** To enter the competition, the online entry form must be completed, with all fields completed, and you must upload a picture of yourself.

** The photo may not be larger than 2MB – only JPEGs and GIFs accepted. Participants must be able to read and write English (at their grade level) to enter.

** Parents/ guardians are permitted to enter more than one child but will require a unique and valid email address for each child entered.

** You may not be younger than 9 years nor older than 15 years by the starting date of the first round of the competition (1 September 2016).

** Competition entry is free and participants may only enter once during the qualifying competition period.

** Entries are final and may not be changed after submission. Where multiple entries are received, only the first entry will be accepted.

** A group of 50 (25 girls and 25 boys) semi-finalists will be selected by a panel of Ackermans judges.

** The selection process will be based on creative and design forward entries in the first round.

** The semi-finalists will be notified via email by 15 October 2016.

** Semi-finalists, or their parents/ guardians, are required to confirm their acceptance into the competition by 25 October 2016.

** Should the organizers be unable to reach the semi-finalists after 3 attempts, alternative semi-finalists will be selected.

Round 2

** Round 2 of the competition runs from 1 November up until and including midnight on 21 November 2016.

** Round 2 consists of the group of 50 (25 girls and 25 boys) semi-finalists which were selected in round 1.

** A package will be sent via post with materials and instructions on how to create and complete a design mood board.

** Additional materials/ items/ stationery can be used in support of activities.

** Should the semi-finalists not receive the package by 1 November 2016, the semi-finalist should notify stylesquad AT ackermans.co.za and they will be emailed the link to complete the online form but will need to compile their own mood board using their own materials and at their own cost.

** 20 Finalists “The Style Squad” (10 girls and 10 boys) will be selected by a panel of Ackermans Judges.

** The selection process will be based on creative and design forward entries from the second round.

** The finalists will be notified via email no later than 4 December 2016. The email will include further information relating to next steps for the Style Squad 2022 competition.

** Should the organizers be unable to reach the finalists after 3 attempts, alternative finalists will be selected.

Round 3

** The final round will start on 9 January 2022 and end on 13 June 2022.

** Each finalist will become an exclusive member of the Ackermans Style Squad and feature on the Ackermans website and/or social media platforms and our Ackermans Magazine for the duration of the final round.

Each finalist will receive the following :

a) One of 20 Tablets including a 2GB data package for a period of 6 months.

b) 5 x Ackermans virtual vouchers to the value of R380 each, split over 6 months.

c) A personal logo and profile of themselves on the Ackermans Style Squad website (edited by Ackermans)

d) A personal email address

A chance to :

i) Win R10 000 in cash

ii) Win an educational policy to the value of R10 000

iii) Win R5000 for their school

iv) Design and create their own fashion range/s, which will be sold in all Ackermans stores

** The finalists will be required to complete an online activity on a monthly basis during the final round.

** There will be 5 activities each having specific deadlines which will be communicated.

To meet the requirements of the activities, the finalists are required to :

a) Complete a monthly activity communicated by Ackermans online using their tablets and data package

b) Complete at least 4 of the 5 activities

c) Use their Ackermans vouchers by purchasing clothing/shoes/accessories at Ackermans for themselves to wear in order to complete the activity

d) Using their Tablet, take pictures of designs and themselves in order to complete the activity

e) Fill in the activity form online and upload photos of themselves in the clothing/shoes/accessories from Ackermans using their tablet and data package.The photos may not be larger than 2MB, only JPEGs and GIFs formats accepted.

** A package with materials and instructions for all activities will be supplied to complete each task, additional materials/ items/ stationery can be used in support of activities.

** Should the finalists not receive the package by the dates to be disclosed, the finalist should notify stylesquad AT ackermans.co.za and they will be emailed the link to complete the online form but will need to compile their activity using their own materials and at their own cost.

** Once issued, the Tablet becomes the responsibility of the finalist.

** Therefore the finalist is responsible for any damages or losses.

** Should the finalist use up their data before the month end, Ackermans will not be responsible for replenishing the data.

** It is then the responsibility of the finalist to find another means of uploading the activity.

** Should a finalist fail to complete at least 4 activities, they will be disqualified from the competition and forfeit any further prizes or rewards.

** Should a finalist not adhere to the rules of the competition, the finalist will be disqualified immediately.

** Should the finalist be disqualified or for any reason, need to leave the competition; they will forfeit their monthly Ackermans virtual vouchers, data and their place in the Style Squad team.

** The 20 finalists will be judged by a panel of judges for the best designs, images, content and effort of the 5 activities completed and submitted.

** The finalists’ activities and photos will be uploaded to the Ackermans Style Squad website and/or social media platforms for others to view and share the content.

** The 2 overall winners (1 girl and 1 boy) will be selected by a panel of Ackermans judges.

** The selection process will be based on creative and design forward entries submitted. The winners will be notified no later than 1 August 2022.

** Should the organizers be unable to reach the winners after 3 attempts, alternative winners will be selected.
