Shoprite Checkers Win A Car Competition

** Shoprite and Checkers are again giving away 150 brand new VW up! cars this festive season. Between Monday 5 November and Monday 24 December 2022, a minimum of three customers will win a car every day in South Africa’s biggest car giveaway.

Eligibility

** The Competition is open to all adult South African residents who are in possession of a valid identity document

Not Eligibility :

** Except any director, member, partner, employee, agent or consultant of the Promoter, the marketing service providers or any person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by these entities, including their spouses, life partners, business partners or immediate family members.

** Participants are not required to have a valid driver’s license to win a prize, but a prize may only be collected by a representative of a winner who is in possession of a valid driver’s license at the time of collection of such prize.

Competition Duration

** This promotional competition is open from 5 November 2022 and ends at midnight on 24 December 2022.

** Any entries received after the closing date will not be considered.

How to Enter

To enter, participants are required to:

a. Make a minimum purchase of R100-00 or more at any Shoprite, Shoprite Hyper, Shoprite Mini, Checkers, Checkers Hyper, Shoprite Liquorshop or Checkers Liquorshop store in South Africa and/or buy any one of the participating brands listed at the end of these terms.

b. Entries accumulate based on spend and purchase of participating brands.

c. Therefore as an example : Spend R300 and purchase 4 of the participating brands = 7 Entries per transaction.

d. All entries are valid throughout the duration of the competition.

Note :

Please note the following when entering the competition by means of dialling the USSD string OR sending an SMS printed on the till slip :

** The customer will receive a tax invoice and a second competition till slip with every qualifying transaction.

** The competition till slip will offer the customer the option to enter via USSD or SMS.

** The till slip will also indicate the unique code and instruction to use.

** The unique code will only be valid once using either USSD or SMS,

** USSD costs 20c per 20 seconds.

** Standard SMS rates apply.

** Once you have successfully dialed the USSD string or sent an SMS, a message will confirm that the entry has been successfully received.

** Entries are valid for the duration of the competition.

** Customers can check their total entries at any time using the following USSD : *120*569*227# or *120*569*CAR

Prizes

** Customers stand the chance of winning 1 of 150 new VW Up! Take UP! vehicles.

** The Promoter shall solely determine the specifications and colour of the vehicles to be won.

** The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

** The cost and arrangement of licensing, registration and insurance of any prize is excluded.

** Winners must contact the VW dealer that does the handover to arrange for the legal transfer of any prize and must arrange for third party insurance against damage or loss from the moment possession is taken of the prize.

** The Promoter shall not be liable for any manufacturing faults, recalls, damage or loss of or to any vehicle once handed over to a winner.

Selection Of The Winners

Winners will be selected as follows :

** Every day 3 winners will be randomly selected by draw from the pool of entries nationwide from USSD and SMS.

** Winners will be contacted within 1 week of the draw taking place where they will be required to verify their details.

** Each winner will be contacted up to 3 times a day and if there is no answer after 3 attempts, then a second person will be randomly selected.

** The entries in the pool of entries at the time of the draw will remain in the entry pool until the end of the competition.

** This means that even if you purchased on 20 November 2022, your entry will still be valid on 24 December 2022.
