SASSA Grant Payment Dates For January 2022 Released

The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) grants have been the only source of income keeping some South Africans afloat during and outside of the pandemic. Payments of these necessary grants are said to commence once again in January of 2022.

Month after month, Sassa grant holders have lined up at Post Offices and Supermarkets to collect their much-needed social grants. These grants have become all the more necessary over the two years spanning from the beginning of 2020 and the end of 2021 due to the prevalence of the Covid-19 pandemic and its effect on the South African economy.

One of the grants that have become extremely necessary has been the R350 Covid-19 Social Relief of Distress (SRD) grant which was installed at the beginning of the pandemic and has since remained.

Sassa has released an official social media statement that has revealed the January payout dates of these extremely essential grants. The payment dates are as follows:

Older Person’s Grants

• Will be paid out from the 4th of January 2022. This payment includes grants linked to these accounts.

Disability Grants

• Will be paid out from the 5th of January 2022. This payment includes grants linked to these accounts.

All remaining grants

• Will be paid out from the 6th of January 2022.

Sassa grant recipients should ensure that they only visit collection venues once they have received an SMS that they may collect their grants.
