Initial job spec:

  • Must be proficient with computers
  • Should have a matric
  • Previous work experience would be an advantage
  • Understanding of websites, digital and social media project and account management
  • Good people skills and the confidence and experience to lead meetings and workshops as well as guide clients on marketing and communications solutions
  • Must be comfortable writing and handling briefs and client queries
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills with close attention to detail
  • The ability to work well under pressure
  • Good people, communication and presentation skills
  • Must be assertive and independent with the ability to manage large complex projects
  • A good understanding of financial project management, including cost estimates, budgeting, public and private sector procurement processes, time allocation, billing processes
  • Communications strategy skills a plus
  • Production and activations experience a plus
  • An interest in business development and business strategy

  • A multi-skilled, adaptable approach is required – writing, ability to use a content management system (CMS) and social media skills are plus.

Post learnership spec:

Responsibilities would include, but would not be limited to:

  • Content creation for social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and other strategically relevant online properties
  • Scheduling and planning social media marketing – creating, managing and growing clients’ online presence organically
  • Community management
  • Designing and implementing social media/digital marketing strategies to align with clients’ business goals
  • Providing weekly and monthly reports on metrics, using experience and insight to analyse and quantify data, continually finding ways to improve on those metrics through testing and new initiatives
  • Plan paid social media advertising strategies and budgets
  • Managing social media paid advertising campaigns; optimise and adjusting as required
  • Staying up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools and applications
  • Event coverage – live tweeting, posting Instastories, Facebook stories, taking photographs for publication across platforms
  • Working individually and in a team to solve problems and complete projects
  • Filing and backing up of work and keeping track of hours for billing purposes
  • Researching and writing content for various clients of Flow Communications
  • Liaising with clients
  • Media training (as part of training team when required)
  • Performing various miscellaneous administrative duties
