Your Whey With Cheese Festival Competition

** A SA Cheese Festival competition in partnership with celebrity chef Jenny Morris (The Giggling Gourmet), calling all SA’s self-made chefs to create #waterwise recipes WITH cheese, show off their cooking skills and win great prizes!

Terms & Conditions

** Any person of the age 18 and above may enter their own, original #WaterWise recipes WITH cheese online on the SA Cheese Festival website for the #YourWheyWithCheese Cook-off at the 2022 SA Cheese Festival.

** Recipes must include any of the President cheese products. Cheese for all the Cook-offs is supplied by #SACheeseFest partner President, participants must supply all other ingredients (prepped).

** There is no entry fee.

** Closing date for entries 10 March 2022.

** The competition is judged by celebrity chef Jenny Morris (The Giggling Gourmet), a mystery chef, foodie Sihle Ngobese and SA Cheese Festival partners.

How To Enter

** Entrants, if chosen as a finalist, must be available to participate in the competition on the following dates and at the following venues (travel and accommodation for participants’ own account):

Top 30 Cook-off :

** The top 30 chefs will be invited to cook their recipes at Jenny Morris’ CooksPlayground, Cape Quarter Lifestyle Village, De Waterkant, Cape Town (Saturday 17 March at 10:00).

Top 15 Cook-off :

** The top 15 chefs will go through to the next round (Saturday 7 April at 10:00) for another Cook-off, also at Jenny Morris’ CooksPlayground.

Top 4 Cook-off :

** The top 4 chefs will go through to the next round at the SA Cheese Festival, Sandringham, Stellenbosch. Two chefs will compete at the Friday 27 April Semi-final Cook-off and two at the Saturday 28 April Semi-final Cook-off, in the Agri-Expo Cooking Pot Theatre. The winner of the Friday and the Saturday Cook-Offs compete on the Sunday for the Final Cook-off, in the Agri-Expo Cooking Pot Theatre.

** All recipes entered become the property of the SA Cheese Festival and may be used as seen fit by the SA Cheese Festival.

** All photos and videos of finalists acquired during the competition may be used without compensation to finalists for publicity purposes in the promotion of the SA Cheese Festival.

Prize

Overall prize :

** Win a four-week cooking course at Jenny Morris’ CooksPlayground, Cape Quarter Lifestyle Village, De Waterkant, Cape Town, as well as a two-day cheesemaking course for two participants in Stellenbosch (set dates only), presented by Leon the Milkman. Other prizes sponsored by Taurus Appliances & Willow Creek.
