When will WAEC Result be released?
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) 2022 May/June West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results have been released and uploaded online to www.waecdirect.org.
What are the Statistics of WAEC Result
According to the figures given by WAEC, 76.36 per cent of students got a minimum of five (5) credits, including English Language and Mathematics, in five (5) or more subjects. Within the next ninety days, applicants whose results have been properly processed and released will receive their certificates.
What you need to check WAEC Result 2022
Before you can check any of the WAEC Results you are required to have your Smart Identity Card or purchase a scratch card/pin for the checking process. We have published detailed guidelines on how to do that.
How to Check WAEC Results Online
You don’t need to purchase any scratch card/pin to access your result. Check your Smart Identity Card for your Result Checker PIN and Serial Number.
- Go to the WAEC portal at https://www.waecdirect.org.
- In the required column, enter your 10-digit WAEC Examination Number (This is your 7-Digit centre number followed by your 3-digit candidate number eg. 4123456789). For examination year < 1999, enter your 8-digit WAEC Examination Number. (This is your 5-Digit centre number followed by your 3-digit candidate number eg. 19865001)
- Select your Examination Year, e.g. 2022.
- Select your examination type, i.e. SCHOOL CANDIDATE RESULT.
- Enter the Personal Identification Number (PIN) on your e-PIN
- Enter the e-PIN Voucher Number
- Finally, click the “Submit” button to obtain your WAEC result.
How to Buy WAEC Result Checker PIN
The council has already given each candidate its result checker PIN and Serial Number. You can check the Smart Identity Card used during the conduct of the examination to check for your Result Checker PIN and Serial Number.
But in case you have exceeded the number of checks or you’ve misplaced your PIN and serial number, you will need to visit the WAEC Request Management System portal to order your PIN online.
The cost of a WAEC result checker PIN is N3,654.82. Candidates interested in purchasing the e-PIN/result checker can do that on the council’s Request Management System portal. Follow the procedure below to buy WAEC result checker PIN:
- Go to the WAEC Request Management System portal at https://request.waec.ng/Home/PurchaseToken?servid=406
- Your Transaction Ref No will be generated automatically.
- Under the Select a Request Type option, pick Request For Service from the list of options.
- Under the Select a Request option, pick Sale of WAEC Direct Result Checker for the list of options.
- Now enter your Name, Phone Number and Email Address in the required columns.
- Finally, click on Proceed to Online payment to make payment and access your WAEC result checker PIN.

Meaning of Witheld WAEC Result
Possibility of release: Slim
This occurs when almost all the candidates in a particular centre had same grade. WAEC will further investigate the result. If truly the candidates engaged in any form of malpractice during the exam, such results would be seized and not released. But if reverse is the case, they would be released.
Meaning of held WAEC Result
Possibility of release: Slim
Almost the same thing with witheld. Held result mostly occur when a written remark is made on a candidate answer booklet relating to malpractice and other examination offences.
Meaning of Outstanding in WAEC Result
Possibility of release: Medium
Outstanding in some subject(s) mostly occur when a student is recorded as present in exams, but the mark on the subject(s) are not concluded. It can also be cause by extra answer sheet. i.e. when not properly attached or some other factors.
Meaning of ‘No Result For This Candidate in the specified year’ in WAEC Result
Possibility of release: Slim
This often happened to candidates that registered with special centres.
If you are not guilty of any examination offences and your result shows any of the tags stated above, there is high possibility of release.
