You can now register for 2022 at Stellenbosch University. New students as well as returning students are urged to make use of the self-registration process.

Stellenbosch University has 5 main campuses, namely:
- Main Campus found in Stellenbosch
- Medicine and Health Sciences Campus found in Tygerberg
- Military Sciences Campus based in Saldanha
- Economic and Management Sciences Campus located in Bellville Park
- Ukwanda Rural Clinic School found in Worcester
At these campuses they offer different faculties which include the following:

Registration for first-year students will open on 1 March.
Registration for all students will close on 11 March with late registrations closing on 26 March.

Students who do not register online, must follow the assisted registration process on the Stellenbosch or Tygerberg campus. The on-campus registration schedule is conditional and assumes that the current regulations will not change, and that no changes may become necessary to mitigate any associated risks.

Stellenboach University First Year Registration
Stellenbosch University’s registration for first year undergraduate students have opened and will take place online and on campus if necessary. Keep reading to find out more about this.
The Stellenbosch University Registrations are for students whose application status has been check and confirm. If you have not checked your status, click the following link to do so:
They have opened their online registration for first year undergraduate students on 1 March and this will commence until 26 March when late registration for undergraduate students will take place.
Students will only be able to register once they have received a final admission notification and registration instructions which the university has sent out since 26 February.
The university has urged students to make use of the self-registration (e-registration) process as they would like to have as little assisted registrations as possible due to the restrictions put in place due to Covid-19.
Self-registration can be completed from any computer with access to the internet using the following link: www.maties.com
Those who are unable to register online are able register via assisted registration on the Stellenbosch or Tygerberg campus.
Go to: http://www.sun.ac.za/english/assisted-registration to find the assisted registration schedule in which you will be able to find all the dates on which different faculties will be doing this.
When arriving for the assisted registration students must bring along the following original documents:
- Advice of Results of the 2020 NSC or IEB final school-leaving examination.
- NSC or IEB candidates who matriculated in 2019 or earlier: National Senior Certificate.
- Candidates from international school systems: School-leaving certificate/s and certificate of university exemption issued by the SA Matriculation Board.
- Candidates who studied at other universities: The document/s mentioned at b or c above, as well as an original academic transcript/record and certificate of good conduct issued by the university concerned.
- If you are not a South African citizen, you must submit additional supporting documents electronically to intpreregistration@sun.ac.za (include your student number on each document) in order to obtain pre-registration clearance as follows:
- Certified copy of your valid passport
- Certified copy of your valid study visa or proof of Permanent Residence in South Africa;
- Proof of South African medical aid (for study visa-holders);
- Proof of payment (scholarships/bursaries must be authorised by SU International’s financial administrators)
The 2022 academic year at Stellenbosch University will commence on 15 March for all undergraduate students and First-year undergraduate students on the Tygerberg Campus.
