The official resumption date for all schools has been fixed by the ministry of education as Monday 12th September 2022. This is to keep all academic activities in line with the approved academic calendar for the 2022/2023 academic session.
The resumption date above is binding on all schools including all Unity schools (Federal and State government colleges) across the nation. The 1st term has been scheduled to run for a period of 3 and a half months in order to meet up with the September resumption which marks the beginning of a fresh academic session.
Primary and Secondary Schools (Unity Schools) Resumption Dates
The federal ministry of education stated that all Federal Government Colleges (unity schools) shall resume as follows:
Junior Secondary School (Day and boarding students) – Sunday 11th September 2022 & Monday 12th September 2022.
Senior Secondary Schools (Day and boarding students) – Sunday 11th September 2022 & Monday 12th September 2022.
Public Universities Resumption Dates
All Public Universities are to resume on Monday 17th October 2022 following the suspension of the ASUU 8-month-old strike.
