Sassa has so far processed over two-thirds of appeals for the SRD grant and has called on applicants waiting for feedback to be patient as some of them are still being processed.
Their cases have been sent to the banking sector for validation, which is likely to take time. Sassa further stated that the main purpose of this is to double-check if they do not receive any income as this forms part of the SRD grant criteria.
In order to be eligible for the SRD grant, applicants should be unemployed and without any income.Ā This is how applicants can go about processing their appeal for the Covid-19 SRD.
