Registrations for the 2021 academic year are open at the North-West University. The North-West University’s mission is to function as a unitary, integrated, multi-campus university that enables equity, redress and globally competitive teaching and research across all three of its campuses.

The university offers both contact and distance learning. Eight faculties are offered at the university including Economic and Management Sciences, Education, Engineering, Health Sciences, Humanities, Law, Natural and Agricultural Sciences, and Theology.
Students are asked to register online via the North-West University website.
First-year students:
- 8 March – 10 March 2021: Online registrations
Returning students:
- 18 January – 12 February 2021: Online registrations
Follow these steps to register online:
- Choose “Register online” at the following link: http://studies.nwu.ac.za/studies/registrations
- Sign in on with your student number and PIN (not your Novell pin. First years will receive a sms on 5 March regarding your pin).
- Under Registration “Self registration”. Check your qualification and select “Next”.
- It is compulsory to complete the permission for providing personal information (POPI).
- Confirm your “contact information” [NB: When registration is complete the proof of registration will be sent to the e-mail address indicated here. Please ensure it is your personal e-mail address].
- Select the correct modules for registration, by clicking/marking next to each module.
- Select study material.
- “Accept” undertaking.
Proof of registration will be sent to your e-mail address. You can forward or print the document from your e-mail. Your proof of registration can be also be requested during the year on the NWU DIY service: http://diyservices.nwu.ac.z a/student-360-service.
