Late applications are open for programmes that have spaces open. CPUT has provided a list of these which can be found on the CPUT Late applications website page.

This list will be changed as registration continues and spaces are being filled up.

Some programmes are phased out qualification. Applications are then only allowed for students who have taken a gap year in their studies.

The late applications are currently only open for the following programmes:

  • 2nd,3rd, 4th-year Undergraduate studies
  • Advanced Diploma
  • Undergraduate students transferring from other universities into 2nd,3rd or 4th year at CPUT
  • Postgraduate studies
  • Full Research Masters and Doctoral programmes

Late applications for first-year entering students are yet to be announced.

Applications are welcomed for the following applicants:

  1. National applicants (with an SA ID), including Refugee/Asylum Seeker and/or Permanent Residency applicants with a National Senior Certificate (NSC) / SC (Senior Certificate) / NCV (National Vocal Certificate) / National Qualification.
  2. National applicants (with an SA ID) with international qualifications who already have SAQA certificates
  3. Refugee/Asylum Seeker status applicants with an international qualification who already have SAQA certificates
  4. Permanent residency applicants with SA ID with international qualification who already have SAQA certificates
  5. Regretfully no RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) applications will be considered

Category A  Application types:

  • Applicants who did not apply during the normal application timelines and therefore are applying now for the 1st time to the institution. A maximum of 3 choices is allowed
  • Applicants who have applied before and have exhausted only 1 or 2 options out of the maximum of 3 options for applications submitted during the normal application timelines

Online application submission only.  Regretfully no manual applications are accepted for both National and International applicants.

Category B Application types:

This category is applicable to the following types of applicants:

  • Applicants who have applied before and have exhausted their 3 choices but meet the entry requirements for a programme with available space may submit an appeal to the Dean of the relevant faculty for consideration of a 4th

Selections will be conducted within the respective Faculties and the outcome will be communicated via SMS to the applicant.

As the institution is on strict lockdown level 3 mode, students are therefore urged to not come to campuses for face-to-face assistance from staff.

Students and members of the public are asked to please be patient as CPUT processes registrations, queries and late applications. CPUT has assured individuals that their request will be dealt with as soon as possible.
